When Tobias was a child, he had a monster in the closet named Xavier; a monster who quickly became his friend when his Mother and Father divorced. However, Tobias outgrew the Monster, as do all children. He stopped believing in him. Now Tobias is an adult, and has buried himself in lies and deceit, insecurities and failures, terrified that he will discover how dissatisfied he is with himself. Suddenly, Xavier returns to check-up on his childhood friend, and Tobias blames all of his current failures on tricks played by the Monster. Xavier takes Tobias through a haunting game of failures and pretense, to show him that Tobias is failing himself; not allowing himself to win. But when Tobias finally realizes that he no longer needs the Monster to blame things on, Xavier suddenly realizes how badly he needs Tobias.
A surrealistic play about finding the truths within oneself.

When her oldest son comes home from war in the Middle East he brings with him a renewed hope, but also new and unwelcome ideas that threaten to shake Gwenn's brittle foundation to the core. A Marine comes home from war to face PTSD ... but not his own. Grief, divorce, foreclosure and religion have taken over his family while he was away. Some families really put the war in worship.
